Once a month, the first Saturday is “Hard Day“. The wet parts of the sauna are closed on “Hard Day” and a “backroom” is created. (Do they mean a dark room?). No towels. You can be dressed or go naked.
Hard Day attracts many fisters!

2015-04-14: Thermos Sauna is closed!
The only gay sauna in Amsterdam until October 2013, with a lot of complaints about unfriendly staff and the place not being clean. Luckily Sauna Nieuwezijds (NZ) opened. Locals prefered this new NZ sauna right away, so it is not a surprise Thermos did not survive. But it is a pity, since NZ is much smaller than Thermos, so expect difficulties to visit NZ in the weekends…

December 2013: Finally a new gay sauna in Amsterdam!!! After a way too long domination by Thermos Sauna, the management of the popular Club Church opened a brand new gay sauna only a two minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station. The name Nieuwezijds comes from the name of the little alley where the sauna is located.
